So apparently last month LucasArts released its second mission pack DLC (downloadable content) for The Force Unleashed, the Tattooine expansion pack. I dl'd it last night and it's sick as hell. The storyline is taken from a new Infinates concept, where Vader's secret apprentace, Starkiller, defeats the Dark Lord, and takes his place at the Emperor's side. It's pretty much rethinking the first three prequals as the Dark Side completely overpowering the Rebellion thanks to this new, much more bloodthirsty Sith Lord: Me. My old age has developed a higher level of dark midi-chlorians. Ask Felix. However, like everything related to Star Wars A.J. (after JarJar), a superfan must learn to balance the good with the bad, because afterall, the Dark Side always seems to tag along not too far behind these days. Sometime in Holiday of '09, LucasArts will be releasing a disk collection titled Ultimate Sith Edition that will sell for around $40 and include both this Tattooine stage, as well as a seriously killer Hoth level, where you battle Skywalker himself to the death. Now my question is, why does Lucas feel it's necessary to force me, a loyal Force Unleashed gamer, twice for a game in order to collect all 3 expansion packs? Common sense suggests offering Hoth as the third DLC for those who have already purchased Tattooine, and leave the disk to those who would rather wait for it. Hopefully, the Sith Lords over at LucasArts will come to appreciate their fans that still shell out their scarce dollars, and change their mind about how they deliver the Hoth expansion pack to the public.
