XB360: Shadow Complex

Wow!! Is 2009 the year of sleeper hits, or what? Ever since D-Frag told me about 360's Excitebike-style arcade release, Trials HD, I've been randomly downloading trials games whenever I have a chance to get online. Since then, I've come across some pretty awesome old-school style arcade games like Splosion Man, Weapon of Choice and a Robotron-type game titled I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 which, although a pretty cool game, could easily go down in history as the worst title of a game ever.

Regardless, among my spelunking, I dl'd and tested out Shadow Complex. I'm an action gamer. I grew up on Mega Man, Castlevania, Contra and Rolling Thunder; all which have gone down in history as some of the best side-scrolling action games of all time. If you're anything of the like, this is the game for you too. Shadow Complex is the same gameplay, with the rich atmosphere of cutting-edge 3-D gaming, so you get all the cool gadgets like thruster boots, grappling hooks, and an awesome exoskeleton suit that lets you scuba dive, with AMAZING visual graphics to boot. In my top 5 games of 2009, I think I would place Shadow Complex maybe at about a 3. It's really that good. Here's the game trailer, but IMO, it really doesn't do the actual gameplay justice.
